Case Study
In the summer of 2009, Terry harvested third crop hay from a field that produced Phirst Hybrid alfalfa and another brand. On Monday, he mowed his field, and the drying conditions were good. On Wednesday, he looked at the field of hay and decided that the Phirst Hybrid alfalfa was fit to rake and bale, and in the afternoon, he baled this hay. On Thursday he looked at the other brand of hay and decided it would be fit to rake and bale, which he did.
When he viewed the hay during the winter, he found that the Phirst Hybrid alfalfa was a “wonderful product.” It was bright green and looked very much like it did when it was baled. The other brand of alfalfa turned black and was of very poor quality.
The fine stems and fast dry down of the Phirst Hybrid alfalfa gave Terry the advantages of harvesting quicker and producing a superior quality product.
Testimonials
“I planted Naylor Seed’s Phirst Hybrid alfalfa last year and got 26 big bales off 7 acres, and it wasn’t the best ground. It is awesome stuff!” ~ Bill Nulle, Springville, IA
“I really like Phirst Hybrid Alfalfa from Naylor Seed. I am impressed with the fast recovery and high tonnage of this alfalfa. The fact that Phirst Hybrid alfalfa is all fine-stemmed and uniform in maturity allows me to harvest a superior quality product. I will be buying more Phirst this spring.” ~ Mark Knutson, Ossian, Iowa
“I am very impressed with hybrid alfalfa from Naylor Seed. It is out yielding all other alfalfas that I have grown, by 10-15%. When it was tested for crude protein, it ran around 20%, which makes it one of the best alfalfas I have ever planted.” ~ Lee Tonn, Independence, Iowa
